You Are…

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-26 (The Message Bible)

2. Shine Bright

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”  – Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)

Love Lullaby

Kneeling by my bedside, I feel His love surround me

Knocking at the door, His tenderness awaits

All creatures, great and small, worship His name

And my heart fills with a yearning for His word

Young and old seek His face with fervor

Years pass away, yet His affection endures

Leaders scour the earth for His tenderness

Let all the world display devotion to His lawchildren

Any who come to Him receive His steadfast love

Anger and hate hold no place within His amity

Never will the admiration of His children fade

Nor the passion of His disciples

Oh, that He would reveal the fullness of His affection

Only the chosen can relish His promises

Kings delight in the wisdom of their LORD

Knights taste the power of His mighty handBeach

Every sunrise radiates with His love

Each sunset fills the meek with adoration

Let the little children delight in His teachings

Lest they cease to worship their Father

Behold, the lust of the lost fades to dust

Holy-PrayerBut the zeal of the reborn shines bright in darkness

Yes, all will praise Him to the end of time

Yahweh, oh Yahweh, your love is my lullaby
